2000 - Formally changed the name of the organization from Personalized Nursing Service, Inc. to Arbor Hospice, Inc., with d/b/a's of Arbor Hospice & Home Care and The Residence of Arbor Hospice.

2000 - Revised the Bylaws of Arbor Hospice. Highlights of bylaw changes:


Representation from each of the major area health systems and the University of Michigan Medical School.

Formation of eight committees of the Board.

Representation from each of the major service areas (Downriver) and the western Wayne/Oakland area members of the Board of Directors.

2000 - Opened Northville branch office to better serve the residents of western Wayne and Oakland County.

2001 - Formation of the Patient and Family Concern Committee of the board that addresses the ethical issues related to end of life care.

2002 - Met all bond covenants for the first time in 4th quarter of 2001 and all subsequent quarters.

2002 - Developed and finalized strategy to reduce all of the long-term debt of Arbor Hospice & Home Care.

2002 - Prepaid $725,000 of long-term debt.

2002 - Established first annual 'Art Dash' fundraising event hosted by Northville branch office benefiting Arbor Hospice & Home Care.

2002 - Formally established Arbor Hospice Foundation.

2003 - Recruited and established Arbor Hospice Foundation Board of Directors.

2003 - Prepaid $480,000 of long-term debt.

2003 - Negotiated an agreement with the bondholder to enable the agency to make early payment of the remaining long-term debt.

2003 - FYE 2003 marked the fourth consecutive year of positive financial results, with an average annual surplus of $750,000.

2003 - 12th Annual Arbor Hospice Chair*ity Affair benefiting Pathfinders Children's Program generates highest-ever earnings in history, marking a 300% increase since 1998.

2004 - More than $600,000 in leadership gifts committed to the Arbor Hospice Foundation.

2004 - "Circle of Friends" Annual Giving Campaign launched.
