New fundraising event May 21 in Plymouth features strolling dinner with local chefs, music, dancing
ANN ARBOR, Mich., (April 18, 2011) - The Arbor Hospice Foundation will host "Savour the Journey: A Celebration of the Things We Love About Life" fundraising gala beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at The Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center, 8768 North Territorial Road in Plymouth.
"Savour the Journey," a new fundraiser for The Arbor Hospice Foundation, was designed to bring together sponsors and guests from all communities served by Arbor Hospice to celebrate life’s journey. The Foundation previously hosted nine "Art Dash" events in the Plymouth area and two "Dine & Dash" events in Ann Arbor, but decided to combine both events into one gala evening.
Guests will enjoy a wonderful evening as they "savour" fabulous wine, a spectacular strolling supper featuring "savoury" selections by local celebrity chefs, decadent desserts, plus an evening of music featuring The Royce & Jenn Band, dancing and a live auction. (Visit www.arborhospice.org for a preview of auction items).
“Savour the Journey” benefits The Arbor Hospice Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide philanthropic support to advance the mission of Arbor Hospice. One hundred percent of funds raised will go directly back to the community through support of pediatric hospice and grief support services for children, adolescents and adults. Arbor Hospice is a nonprofit and has been serving southeast Michigan for 27 years.
Guests can expect delectable dishes from Food Art, Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center, Giovanni’s Ristorante, Lake Street Tavern, Makkara Sushi, Moveable Feast, Rice Cakes and Satchel’s BBQ, and delicious desserts created by Decadent Delight, Happy Endings Bake Shop, Jefferson Street Market and Shatilla.
More than 150 bottles of wine have also been donated by board members, committee members and community sponsors, each worth at least $25. Guests may purchase a $25 ticket to 'pull' a bottle of wine – they’re guaranteed to go home with a bottle worth the cost of the raffle ticket, with several bottles valued at more than $200.
Also, drinking champagne could mean winning a 1.2 karat diamond. One hundred glasses of champagne will be sold during the event for $100 each. One lucky supporter will win the gem, donated by Lewis Jewelers of Ann Arbor.
The Foundation is currently seeking sponsors as well. Sponsorship benefits the community and will maximize business exposure to southeast Michigan’s food and wine enthusiasts, and Arbor Hospice supporters. Please call (734) 794-5122 for more information.
