Art from the HeART is a support group run by an art therapist specifically designed for any child in Kindergarten though 8th grade who is grieving the loss of an important person in his or her life. During group sessions, a safe atmosphere is created where children can engage in art expression and discussion, enabling them to continue their grief process. Materials and techniques used include paints, pastels, clay, sculpture, collage and more. Participants also have the unique opportunity to meet their peers who know what it is like to experience a loss through death.

On Saturday, May 3, Art from the HeArt will have a special Mother’s Day focus, but is still open to grieving children (K-8) regardless of their loss relationship. On Saturday, June 14, Art from the HeArt will have a special Father’s Day focus, but is still open to grieving children (K-8) regardless of their loss relationship.
Art from the HeART will not be held on the following dates: May 24th, July 5th, August 30th, November 29th and December 27th of 2008.
