Pathfinders for Children & Teens is a support group especially designed for any young child (age 5-12) or teen (age 13-18) and their parent(s)/caregiver(s) who are grieving the loss of an important person in their life. During group sessions, children engage in creative art expression, age-appropriate grief and bereavement activities and general discussion, all in a safe atmosphere among their peers who have also experienced the loss of a loved one. Parent(s)/caregiver(s) meet in their own support groups, allowing them to address their individual grief concerns. Expressive Art Activities allow children to:
Pathfinders for Children & Teens is led by staff members who are specially trained in grief and bereavement. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and express their needs, feelings, concerns and strengths. Artistic materials and techniques used include paints, clay, collage and more. Mondays, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Advanced registration is required. Pathfinders for Children is an eight-week support group which is held several times each year: we encourage all participants to attend all eight sessions.
