Audio sessions on a variety of topics will help those dealing with loss and grief
GILL is a grief support audio series narrated and produced by radio and television reporter Eli Zaret, and grief and loss expert Dr. John Canine EDD, PhD. The two combined their skills, taking a scholarly approach to grief while sharing their personal and poignant stories to resonate with listeners. The collection features more than 60 brief audio sessions for coping with grief that allow grieving individuals to listen at their own pace as they move through their grief process.
Partnering with GILL expands the existing grief support services Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice offer to grieving individuals and families. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the not-for-profits’ grief support groups shifted to a virtual format to ensure the community continues to receive uninterrupted emotional support after losing their loved one. Virtual grief support, including GILL audio sessions, offers the same benefits as in-person sessions while allowing individuals to join by phone or computer.
“Grief isn’t curable, but over time we can learn to manage it and move through the death process to embrace hope and happiness,” said Karen Monts, grief support services director for Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice. “Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice are pleased to offer Grief is Love Lost as a self-directed resource for grieving individuals and families in our community.”
“Grief truly is love lost – it will never disappear because we never stop loving those we lost,” said Zaret. “We’re happy to partner with Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice to provide audio sessions for those struggling with the loss of a loved one.”
